About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Content Designer to lead content design work for our clients across digital and non-digital products and services. You'll work in multidisciplinary teams to design how people find, understand, access and use products and services, making sure content is accessible, easy to understand and in the most appropriate format. You'll also work with clients to help them develop a clear approach to producing, managing and maintaining content. You'll be part of an established content design Community of Practice at TPXimpact.
Responsibilities
- Working as a content designer in multidisciplinary teams designing, prototyping, testing, building, and iterating content for products and services from high-level flows and journeys to specific interface details.
- Producing content design work for clients and providing support to embed content design into their ways of working - this may mean leading small teams of content designers on a larger project or programme of work occasionally.
- Using analytics, data, user feedback and user research to identify user needs.
- Writing and mapping user journeys to inform content strategy and design decisions based on data and user needs.
- Supporting the development of content design strategies and governance (such as processes or ways of working).
- Creating and editing content in line with style guides and using plain English.
- Upskilling client teams, and the wider TPXimpact design community through training, pair writing and workshops - including facilitating these sessions when required.
- Providing quality assurance to other designers.
- Supporting user research and working with other design specialists to develop and test content, information architecture, and prototypes.
- Sharing and documenting your knowledge and approach, helping to create best practices that will guide the consistency and quality of all our work.
- Advocating for best practice in content design across the organisation and on all client projects.
- Contributing to a content design community of practice at TPXimpact, making sure good content design principles are embedded throughout all the work we do.
- Continuously maintain and update skills and knowledge to stay current within your relevant field of expertise.
Key performance indicators
- Individual utilisation - 90%.
- Problem solving responsibility and complexity medium/high leading content design work providing practice specific support on client project holding ambiguity with the ability to adapt to fast changing situations.
- Internal / external interaction contribute to sales activities (bids, public speaking, blogging) manage delivery and client relationships act as a line manager and a mentor/coach.
About You
Professional knowledge and experience
- Experience leading and delivering high-quality content design work at a senior level.
- Experience delivering content design work for online and offline journeys, as part of a wider product or service.
- Experience working with hypothesis and user need driven approaches when iterating and improving content.
- Experience of defining and working with data to measure success.
- Experience designing solutions that work for everyone, including usability and accessibility considerations to meet user needs and deliver the best possible user experiences.
- Experience producing content as part of a multidisciplinary agile team, as well as experience working alone or with other content designers as part of a content-only stream of work.
- Experience creating and implementing content design strategy.
Technical skills
- Deep understanding of content design and UCD principles and work to accessibility guidelines, and how to apply them to your work.
- Able to design user centred, accessible content (including microcopy and long form content) for products and services, working to GDS standards.
- Familiar with and able to use common design tools such as Figma, Miro, etc.
- Able to facilitate workshops with clients and project team members.
- Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team and assisting with other elements of design and research when required.
- Understand and can apply a wide range of content testing methods.
