Responsibilities
- Support the Surface Dressing team by clearing storage areas with a grab (HGV).
- Execute standard daily vehicle checks.
- Communicate effectively with the Supervisor or Foreman to coordinate work and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and traffic management procedures.
- Drive an HGV, assist drivers with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain written and electronic records of operations.
- Assist with the safe and efficient operation of excavators and other heavy equipment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to time‑keeping and attendance policies.
- Record and report any incidents or accidents on site.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of equipment and vehicles.
- Assist with the set‑up and breakdown of work sites.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Full Class C or Class CE driving licence (depending on the role).
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
- Experience in a similar role, such as construction or labouring.
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Current CSCS card.
- Willingness to learn new skills, work in shifts, and be available for overtime when required.
