We are looking for a Design Engineer to join the Design team based in Wymondham, Norfolk. In this role you'll contribute to the delivery of complex construction engineering services, supporting project teams with safe, compliant and buildable design solutions, while continuing to develop technical and professional capability.
Location: Wymondham, Norfolk
Hours: 40 hours per week; some flexibility on hours available if desired.
Responsibilities:
- Producing and checking temporary works designs, integrated with permanent works where required
- Supporting bids and tenders through outline designs, feasibility studies and buildable engineering solutions
- Contributing to design outputs including calculations, drawings, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHEMS and QMS
- Identifying technical risks and opportunities for value engineering under appropriate supervision
- Attending site visits, inspections and meetings, providing technical support to design, site and tender teams
Qualifications:
- Completed IEng or CEng Initial Professional Development with a relevant professional institution (e.g. ICE), or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Experience in temporary works design within a construction or engineering environment
- Good understanding of buildability, safety and compliance within construction engineering
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with designers, site teams and clients
- A proactive and motivated engineer committed to continuous professional development
