We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our KierBAM Joint Venture team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Hours: 45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall. We’re currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our collaborative team and contribute to a project of national importance.
Responsibilities:
- Setting out works to precise specifications and ensuring all construction meets required tolerances and quality standards.
- Supporting quality assurance processes, including preparing as-built drawings, conducting inspections, and maintaining comprehensive project records.
- Collaborating with the team to overcome technical challenges and providing engineering support to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Assisting with site safety, environmental, and quality inspections to maintain our high standards.
- Recording and testing workmanship and materials, including drainage, concrete, and structural elements.
Qualifications:
- Experience with reinforced concrete structures and system formwork, along with proficiency in Leica survey equipment.
- Holding or working towards a relevant degree qualification in civil engineering (or equivalent) and progressing towards chartership.
- Comfortable with quality management systems and writing risk assessments and method statements.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CSCS White AQP card and Supervisor HSE test, with flexibility to work occasional weekends when required.
