The role
Reporting to the Electrical Construction Director, you will oversee electrical packages on fast‑paced, high‑quality commercial fit‑out projects.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate electrical works packages, subcontractors and suppliers across multiple CAT B office fit‑out projects.
- Ensure electrical installations are delivered to agreed quality standards, project programmes and client expectations.
- Review project designs, assess buildability and provide practical, cost‑effective electrical solutions.
- Monitor site activities to ensure high standards of workmanship, health and safety, and site presentation.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, building management teams and client representatives throughout project delivery.
- Manage technical submissions, approvals, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Attend pre‑construction reviews, project kick‑off meetings, subcontractor meetings and regular site progress meetings.
- Oversee procurement activities, purchase orders, cost control and change management processes.
- Track project performance and produce regular progress and status reports for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Coordinate commissioning, testing and certification activities.
- Compile and manage O&M manuals, as‑built drawings, test certificates and handover documentation.
- Ensure projects achieve practical completion with minimal defects and a successful client handover.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with City & Guilds Part 1 & Part 2 (or equivalent electrical qualifications).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Proven experience managing electrical packages within commercial construction and office fit‑out environments.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical installation methods and building services coordination.
- Experience delivering CAT A and CAT B office fit‑out projects is highly desirable.
- Good commercial awareness with the ability to manage procurement, project costs and variations.
- Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage subcontractors, suppliers and multiple project stakeholders.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and construction compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
