Who are Kanvas?
Kanvas Recruitment Group is a specialist recruitment business operating within the Construction, Fit Out & Design sectors.
Established in 2024, we've gone from two people, a couple of laptops and a lot of ambition to building a recognised name within the London Fit Out market.
We work with some of the industry's leading Design & Build, Traditional Fit Out and Construction businesses, helping them build teams across London and beyond.
But we're not interested in doing recruitment the way everyone else does it.
We're straightforward. We're honest. We're relationship-led.
And we're now looking for the next person to join us and learn the trade properly.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Junior or Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our growing team.
You might be completely new to recruitment.
You might have 6-12 months' experience and be looking for somewhere you can actually develop.
Either way, we're more interested in who you are, how you think and how hard you're prepared to work than whether you've already spent years sitting behind a recruitment desk.
You'll be joining a specialist Construction & Fit Out recruitment business where you'll learn from people who have genuinely been there and done it.
You'll learn the industry.
You'll learn recruitment.
You'll learn how to build relationships.
You'll learn how to win business.
And, ultimately, you'll learn how to build a career.
What will you actually be doing?
You'll initially work closely alongside the existing team, learning the Kanvas way of doing things.
Your role will develop as you do, but you'll be involved in:
- Identifying and sourcing construction professionals across the London Fit Out market
- Searching LinkedIn, CV databases and other platforms to find the right people
- Speaking with candidates and understanding their experience, ambitions and requirements
- Building and maintaining your own candidate network
- Learning the Construction & Fit Out market and the different roles within it
- Developing relationships with existing clients and prospective clients
- Supporting the team with live vacancies
- Arranging interviews and managing the recruitment process
- Writing job adverts and candidate profiles
- Learning how to qualify both candidates and clients properly
- Developing your own recruitment desk as your experience grows
- Eventually winning your own clients and managing your own vacancies from start to finish
And yes...
You’ll make a lot of phone calls.
Because recruitment is still a people business.
What we're looking for
We're not looking for a perfect CV.
We're looking for potential.
- A graduate looking for your first proper career
- Working in sales and wanting something with more long-term opportunity
- In recruitment already but looking for somewhere you can actually progress
- Working in construction and interested in moving into recruitment
- Someone who simply knows they're capable of more and wants the opportunity to prove it
You'll need:
Ambition - you want to progress and you're prepared to work for it.
Personality - you'll be speaking to people all day, so being able to build genuine relationships matters.
Resilience - recruitment isn't always easy. Candidates disappear. Deals fall through. Clients change their minds. You need to be able to dust yourself off and go again.
Work ethic - we're a small, ambitious business. Everyone contributes.
Curiosity - you'll need to want to understand Construction, Fit Out and the people working within it.
Common sense - probably more important than anything else.
And most importantly...
You need to give a shit.
About your work.
About your clients.
About your candidates.
And about where you want to get to.
What you'll get from us
This isn't a role where you're thrown a phone, given a database and told to "get on with it".
You'll receive genuine training, mentoring and support from people who have built successful recruitment careers themselves.
You'll have the opportunity to learn from the ground up and progressively take ownership of your own desk.
As you develop, so will your earning potential and responsibility.
You'll have:
- Competitive basic salary
- Unrivalled commission structure
- Personal and team incentives
- Clear opportunities for progression
- Ongoing training and mentoring
- Exposure to some of London's leading Construction & Fit Out businesses
- A growing network and market you can make your own
- A genuinely supportive working environment
- Two weeks' Christmas leave that doesn't come out of your annual holiday allowance
- Regular team and personal incentives
- The opportunity to progress from Trainee - Consultant - Senior Consultant - Management
And if you're good enough, ambitious enough and want to build something...
there's no ceiling on where this can go.
Why Kanvas?
Because we're still small enough that you actually matter.
You won't be employee number 147.
You'll work directly alongside the founders, have a voice, learn from experienced recruiters and have the opportunity to make a genuine impact as the business continues to grow.
We've built Kanvas with the intention of doing things differently.
We care about reputation.
We care about relationships.
We care about doing what we say we're going to do.
And we care about developing good people.
Our founders have spent years building careers and businesses within recruitment, Construction and Fit Out, and developing people has always been a huge part of that.
Now we're looking for the next person to develop.
The big question...
Are you looking for another job?
Or are you looking to build a career?
If it's the latter, we'd like to hear from you.
