Our client is a well-established and expanding commercial fit-out main contractor, delivering high-profile workplace projects across London. With a strong pipeline of CAT A and CAT B office fit-out schemes ranging from £500k to £10m, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Technical Services Manager to support their growing project delivery team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with a mechanical building services background who is looking to develop into a fully-fledged Technical Services Manager, working directly alongside an experienced Building Services Director and gaining exposure to all aspects of MEP project delivery.
The Opportunity
Joining a close-knit and highly experienced team, you will play a key role in supporting the management of mechanical and electrical services throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. You will be given genuine responsibility from day one, with a clear development path and ongoing mentorship from senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination and management of MEP services across commercial fit-out projects.
- Review M&E designs, drawings and technical submissions.
- Support subcontractor management and coordination throughout project delivery.
- Attend design team meetings, site meetings and client-facing project reviews.
- Monitor installation progress, quality standards and commissioning activities.
- Assist with programme management and ensure building services activities remain on track.
- Support procurement of MEP packages and specialist suppliers.
- Coordinate commissioning, testing and handover activities.
- Review O&M manuals, as-built information and project documentation.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, consultants and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
About You
- Mechanical Building Services background preferred.
- Experience working within commercial construction, fit-out, M&E contracting or building services environments.
- Understanding of HVAC, public health and mechanical building services systems.
- Exposure to commercial office fit-out projects would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ambitious, driven and keen to develop a long-term career within Technical Services.
- Ability to work collaboratively within project teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
