Are you an ambitious commercial professional eager to grow within a dynamic fit-out and construction business? We are seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to support our delivery of high-quality commercial office construction and fit out projects across London.
Rapidly growing London contractor specialising in CAT A & B commercial office fit-out and build-to-lease projects for landlords and occupiers. With an owner led ethos rooted in precision delivery, strong client relationships, and craftsmanship, we’re building a team that’s as committed to quality and communication as we are.
What You’ll Do
- As an Assistant Commercial Manager you will work closely with the Commercial Director and Project Teams to support the financial and commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with commercial management on live projects (cost control, forecasting, reporting)
- Taking a lead on smaller projects
- Preparation and review of cost plans, estimates, and commercial submissions
- Supporting contract administration, including variations, valuations, and payments
- Helping manage supplier/subcontractor procurement and associated commercial documentation
- Monitoring and reconciling project budgets and forecasts
- Preparing commercial reports for stakeholders and senior management
- Supporting risk identification and mitigation from a commercial perspective
- Contributing to bid and tender preparation activities
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with a proactive, organised, and commercially minded approach. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Relevant experience in commercial or cost management, ideally within commercial construction or fit-out
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams under pressure
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of contract mechanisms
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- A desire to learn and progress within a growing business
Bonus attributes
- Experience with JCT/NEC contracts
- Proficiency in commercial systems (e.g., Asta, CostX, Procore)
- Exposure to CAT A/B fit-out environments.
