Working as part of the central team, the role involves providing Subject Matter Expertise to the development team of our core TV Audience Measurement backend processing system. This system processes meter data capturing audio and other measurement techniques from the panel home, matching it against a set of channel references to provide accurate reports on viewing habits.
Role Responsibilities:
- Engage with Product team to design solutions.
- Work closely with the Product Owner within Agile scrum team to take ownership in writing specifications for the development team.
- Help validate final solution meets all requirements.
- Collaborate with service and other central teams in supporting data queries and resolving identified issues.
- Maintain documentation created, including in Confluence.
- Guide development team members with domain expertise.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Participate in performance management, strategic planning, and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders.
Required:
- Proven track record as a SME with tangible achievements.
- Very good communication skills.
- Specifications need to be written with great precision.
- Reasonable fluency in a scripting language (Python or Awk) for data analysis.
- Basic SQL to access and analyse Oracle DB data.
- Basic Unix skills.
- Ability to analyse current UI solutions and suggest improvements.
Desirable:
- Experience working with offshore development teams.
- Knowledge of Cloud-based environments (e.g., Azure).
- Good standard Business Analysis skills.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams.
Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, particularly in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, is highly desirable.
