Senior Business Analyst

Job Title: Senior Business Analyst/Systems Analyst/Subject Matter Expert

Location: London, Hanger Lane or Grays Inn Road

Employment type: Permanent / Full time

Role Description: The central team will provide subject‑matter expertise to the development team of our core TV Audience Measurement backend processing system. This modular system captures meter data from the panel home, matches it against channel references, and produces coherent, accurate reports of TV viewership, including other devices.

Role Responsibilities:

• Engage with Product team to design solutions
• Work closely with the Product Owner within an Agile scrum team to take items from the Product Backlog and write specifications for implementation
• Validate final solution meets all requirements
• Collaborate with service and other central teams to support data queries and resolve issues through solutions
• Maintain documentation in Confluence
• Guide development team members with domain expertise
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members; support resource planning, task prioritisation, and foster a collaborative culture across onshore and offshore teams; act as an escalation point for complex issues and assist in onboarding new staff.
• Participate in performance management, strategic planning, and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to communicate progress, manage risks, and contribute to delivery planning and team development.

Required:

• Proven track record as an SME with tangible achievements
• Very good communication and writing skills
• Specifications written with great precision, sometimes at a low level (defining logic step by step)
• Ability to explain complex issues to a broad set of stakeholders in well‑structured narratives
• Fluency in a scripting language (Python or Awk) for data analysis
• Basic SQL to access and analyse Oracle DB data
• Basic Unix skills
• Self‑starting and able to progress on own initiative
• Basic understanding of Market Research methods and Atria functionality
• Design work for complex changes across multiple components or systems; strong end‑to‑end understanding and software design skills
• Analysise current UI solutions and suggest improvements based on user feedback and industry best practices; work closely with UI experts
• Experience working with offshore development teams
• Knowledge of cloud‑based environments and processing (e.g. Azure, Storage Explorer)
• Good standard Business Analysis skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field highly desirable
