We are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic and collaborative global Legal Team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide commercial transaction support and strategic guidance across Kantar’s global Media business. You will partner with our international business colleagues to further develop Kantar’s global business and commercial products while managing legal risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and negotiating commercial relationships across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate for this role will develop a comprehensive understanding of Kantar’s diverse global operations, including our suppliers, partners, clients, and competitors, to support the achievement of our business objectives worldwide. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of global legal frameworks and drive Kantar’s success across various markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Legal advice and counsel: Act as a proactive legal contact for business clients across multiple regions, advising on a wide range of legal issues and providing deal support daily in various international markets.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements: Negotiate and draft complex commercial agreements with global and regional suppliers and clients, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in each jurisdiction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally: Work directly with colleagues across Kantar’s global operations to analyze legal risks, devise creative solutions, and develop strong, trusted advisor relationships across diverse cultural and business environments.
  • Issue-spotting and risk management: Demonstrate a keen ability to spot sensitive legal and business concerns across various legal systems, with a strong sense of when to escalate (and not escalate) matters within global teams, balancing local and global priorities.
  • Privacy and data protection: Help drive cross-organizational input and company alignment on privacy and data protection terms in compliance with international regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other local laws, ensuring that Kantar’s policies are aligned with global standards.
Required
  • 3+ years’ experience at a top law firm or in-house environment, with a focus on commercial transactions, ideally in a global context, dealing with cross-border agreements and international legal considerations.
  • Experience in data privacy matters and understanding their impact on business relationships, especially with respect to global data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other regional privacy laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate legal concepts and issues to diverse stakeholders across multiple regions and cultures.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to advise on business-related legal issues in a global context, navigating different legal systems and regional regulations.
  • Team-oriented consensus builder who can collaborate across time zones and cultures, achieving buy-in from diverse constituencies, and designing "win-win" solutions for a rapidly changing international organization.
  • Must be able to work independently and remotely, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple countries and regions, adjusting to varying time zones and business cultures.
  • Independent and strategic thinker, a strong team player who can adapt to challenges (no job is too big or too small) and is willing to take on additional responsibilities to drive success across global teams.
  • Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects across different markets and jurisdictions, often working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, disruptive global business, staying agile and responsive to changing market dynamics across international regions.
