You’ll oversee group financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance while providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. Job Role Requirements
- Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the Group, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across subsidiaries. Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Audit Coordination & Regulatory Compliance: Lead the coordination of audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth process and address queries promptly. Maintain a strong understanding of tax and UK reporting compliance, ensuring timely submissions to HMRC, Companies House, and other regulatory bodies.
- Technical Accounting & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical accounting queries across the Group. Prepare and review technical accounting papers, ensuring compliance with the latest accounting standards and regulations. Oversee the maintenance and documentation of accounting policies and procedures, particularly related to costs and capital expenditure (capex), and ensure their consistent application across the Group. Additionally, drive the implementation and continuous improvement of financial control frameworks, promoting best practices to enhance the efficiency and quality of financial reporting and accounting processes.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensure the accurate management and reporting of company-level cash flow, supporting the optimization of financial resources for operational needs and strategic objectives.
- Expansion & Strategic Projects: Support the Group’s expansion efforts, including assisting with M&A activities and other related strategic projects. Provide financial insights and analysis to guide decision-making in these initiatives.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the transactional finance team, including credit control, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Promote professional development and continuous improvement within the team.
Role Requirements
Educational & Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA or ACCA are required.
- Experience in an accountancy practice is desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years in senior finance roles, 7 years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of Media, broadcast agency.
- Expertise in financial reporting standards such as IFRS and UK GAAP. US GAAP advantageous.
Accounting & Reporting Skills:
- Proven audit and accounts preparation experience, including the ability to prepare and report financial statements beyond audit processes.
- Strong technical accounting skills and expertise in statutory reporting.
Analytical & Attention to Detail:
- Strong analytical abilities to handle complex financial data and an eye for detail.
- Ability to analyse financial information effectively, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Leadership & Communication:
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of building and developing teams.
Stakeholder & Pressure Management:
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
