The main purpose of a Despatch Operative/Picker is to accurately select and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the customer orders are fulfilled efficiently. Pickers have a crucial role in the supply chain by ensuring the orders are prepared correctly.
Job Responsibilities:
- Able to pick cases of product from one pallet and build them onto another.
- Adhere to health and safety rules and responsibilities.
- Flexible and able to work in different areas of despatch completing different roles.
- Can work with technology i.e. tablet or pick scanner and understand how to operate them.
- Ensure you are cleaning as you go to ensure you are working in a safe area.
- Complete temperature checks to ensure product is within temperature tolerance.
- Report any issues to the shift manager.
- Able to complete stocktakes at the end of shift.
Job Requirements:
- Able to speak and understand English.
- Numerical skills.
- Timely and punctual.
- Able to use a tablet or a pick scanner.
- Flexible – has the ability to complete different tasks upon request.
