Hours: Days = 4on/4off 06:00am-18:00pm OR Nights = 4on/4off 18:00pm-06:00am
Main purpose of the role:
The Industrial Engineer will support the Manager with the delivery of the department’s daily operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the completion of the assigned PMs to ensure departmental KPI’s.
- Clear communication of breakdowns and repairs done by verbal, email and by supporting Engineering shift report.
- Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to identify and implement improvements to the PMs to make them more effective.
- Develop and maintain relations with the Production Engineering, Engineering Administration & Stores teams.
- Identify efficiency opportunities and improvements to plant to enhance operation productivity.
- Company procedures, legislation and good working practices are adhered to.
- Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner & communicate issues / works completion to requesters.
- Completion of daily handovers to ensure that site issues & activities are captured & visible to the Industrial Engineering team.
Job requirements:
Skills & Experience required to do this role:
- Experience of Electrical/Mechanical installation, Ammonia compressors, Refrigeration plant, Glycol plant chillers, Cooling towers, air compressors, Pumps & motors, Industrial Boilers.
- Formal qualifications in any of these disciplines is mandatory; however, training will be available upon request.
- Effective communication and a good understanding of FMCG activities.
- Good communication and updates given to all relevant departments.
- Clear description of the fault and successful rectification.
- All breakdowns and planned repairs are done effectively and to the allocated time.
- Complete PMs to ensure they are effective and give value.
- Familiarity with databases, permit to work, Work order requests, Work orders & Stores.
- Good communication and ability to discuss issues, attain good feedback.
- Minimum 5+ years within FMCG.
- Ability to complete basic weld repairs an advantage.
Qualifications:
HACCP level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 qualifications would also be useful for this role but not essential, as the opportunity to gain these will be provided.
