Reporting into: Inbound Supply Chain Manager

Salary: £14.86 per hour (Weekly)

Hours: Blue Shift Thursday-Saturday (alt Wednesdays) 05:00am-17:00pm

Main purpose of the role:

We are seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team. A warehouse operative ensures the safe receipt & appropriate storage of goods, including checking and completing the relevant documentation and data entry into the appropriate systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork.
  • Storing and rotating stock according to set procedures.
  • Keeping the warehouse and yard environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment.
  • Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods and completing health & safety checks on equipment as per company policy.
  • Completing the necessary warehouse inventory controls – stock counts, weighing and recording weights.
  • Treating all stock with care at all times, ensuring that all products are stored safely and in accordance with the company HACCP policy (especially chemicals and food).
  • Accurate and timely recording of data into Vensis and other systems.
  • Completing daily pick lists for stock movements to feeder warehouse.
  • Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
  • Operating lifting equipment e.g. forklift truck to load, unload, move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely (especially chemicals and food).
  • Correctly label and identify allergen stocks and store appropriately.
  • Clean and maintain the warehouses and equipment (Forklifts and Shadow boards etc.).
  • Completing relevant vehicle and temperature checks when required.

Job requirements:

Skills & experience required to do this role:

  • Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a chilled Food Manufacturing business or FMCG.
  • Demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • IT literate.
  • Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of a warehouse team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of handheld scanners and relevant software programs, such as warehouse management systems.
  • Honesty and trustworthiness.
  • The ability to work effectively under limited supervision.

Qualifications/Tickets:

  • FLT Licence.
