The main purpose of a Despatch Operative/Picker is to accurately select and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the customer orders are fulfilled efficiently. Pickers have a crucial role in the supply chain by ensuring the orders are prepared correctly.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Able to pick cases of product from one pallet and build them onto another.
  • Adhere to health and safety rules and responsibilities.
  • Flexible and able to work in different areas of despatch completing different roles.
  • Can work with technology i.e. tablet or pick scanner and understand how to operate them.
  • Ensure you are cleaning as you go to ensure you are working in a safe area.
  • Complete temperature checks to ensure product is within temperature tolerance.
  • Report any issues to the shift manager.
  • Able to complete stocktakes at the end of shift.

Job Requirements:

  • Able to speak and understand English.
  • Numerical skills.
  • Timely and punctual.
  • Able to use a tablet or a pick scanner.
  • Flexible – has the ability to complete different tasks upon request.
  • Able to work in a team environment or on your own.
  • Experienced in operating MHE (has a licence).
  • Able to work in a cold environment.
