We have an excellent opportunity here at KaneHR for an HR Assistant to gain a valuable insight into the functioning of a busy role with HR at its core. We are looking for someone who wants to build a broad level of experience within the wider HR function, as you will play a pivotal role within the team, whilst having the opportunity to learn so much along the way. About the Role:

  • As the HR intern, you will be responsible for providing day to day support to our knowledgeable internal KaneHR team and clients as required.
  • Assisting with and being responsible for maintaining and updating employee records for clients, ensuring information is up to date and accurate.
  • You will have the opportunity to support the team with investigations, disciplinaries and grievances, primarily in a note taking capacity.
  • As directed by the senior team, you will be required to review, maintain and update new and existing policies and handbooks in line with client requirements and legislative changes.
  • You will provide support to the wider team by carrying out ad hoc projects for clients including benchmarking exercises, performance management system development, staff communications, compliance research; training programmes and other ad hoc work as required.
  • Assisting the wider team with new starter processes for clients; including drafting the relevant documentation, maintaining probation records, and proactively chasing and logging the return of signed contracts and other documents as required.
  • Assisting the wider team with leaver processes for clients; including drafting relevant documentation, updating the relevant HR systems, calculating outstanding holiday, reviewing HR documentation to ensure correct leaver details, including notice periods and outstanding holiday are reflected in the documentation.
  • Support in preparing reports for the senior team (for example; sickness absence reports, new starter and leaver reports and annual leave reports).
  • Assist with the management of our applicant tracking system (ATS), the screening of candidates for potential job vacancies, organising and conducting initial screening calls, and arranging invitations to interviews.
  • You will act as the first point of contact when answering the main telephone line, followed by transferring the caller to the correct person/department.
  • You will assist with the drafting and posting of social media content on LinkedIn and other social media platforms.

About You:

This role will suit an individual who is curious about HR, eager to learn, and keen to gain real-world experience in a professional environment surrounded by a team of HR professionals who are passionate about what they do. Whilst previous work experience and/or HR administration experience would be preferable, we are more interested in your attitude, organisation and interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn, get involved, and build meaningful relationships.

Education & Experience:

  • Completed a university degree (or equivalent) in a business-focused / social sciences discipline is preferable, although other disciplines would be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a gained minimum 2:1 degree classification.
  • Previous office or HR experience is helpful, but not essential.

Salary: £25,000 per annum
