This role is ideal for a senior HR professional who thrives on hands‑on delivery, is confident leading complex ER casework independently, and enjoys being embedded in day‑to‑day people challenges within client organisations. This is a highly operational, client‑facing role where you will act as the go‑to HR lead for ER matters, providing practical, timely and legally sound advice that supports managers to take effective action.
In this role, you will:
- Independently manage complex ER cases end‑to‑end, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability, long‑term sickness absence, restructuring consultations, and dismissals.
- Provide day‑to‑day operational HR support to managers and senior leaders, acting as a trusted advisor on people issues as they arise.
- Lead on high‑risk and sensitive ER matters, ensuring processes are followed correctly, documentation is robust, and outcomes are fair, consistent, and legally defensible.
- Draft outcome letters, investigation reports, consultation documents, and supporting paperwork to a high standard.
- Coach and support managers in handling difficult conversations, investigations, hearings, and consultations.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and pragmatically, balancing compliance with commercial reality.
- Review, update, and implement operational HR policies and ER processes to improve efficiency, clarity, and manager capability.
- Support operational HR activity linked to restructures, TUPE, performance improvement, and organisational change.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation and case law, ensuring advice is accurate and current.
- Build strong, trusted working relationships with client stakeholders through reliable, responsive, and practical support.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you:

- Are confident advising and influencing managers and senior leaders on difficult people decisions.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Are pragmatic, resilient, and comfortable working at pace in a consultancy or multi‑client environment.
- Can balance empathy, legal risk, and business needs while maintaining professional judgement.
- Enjoy being hands‑on, visible, and actively involved in operational HR delivery.
- Are able to commit to working a minimum of three days per week from our Fleet office, with flexibility to travel to client sites as required.
