We're an innovative, forward-thinking company with continued steady growth serving residential, hospitality, education, commercial and healthcare sectors with offices in Northern Ireland, London, Birmingham, Glasgow and the Republic of Ireland. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will identify, develop and secure new business opportunities for Kane's Offsite division across Ireland and the UK, while working closely with our head office in Banbridge, Northern Ireland.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Market Growth: Define and drive the growth strategy for Kane Offsite throughout Ireland and the UK in sectors such as commercial, pharmaceutical and data centres. Identify major projects and pipeline opportunities to position modular MEP solutions.
- Client Engagement: Develop and manage relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders across Ireland and the UK. Represent the Offsite division at client meetings, industry events, and strategic partnership discussions.
- Pipeline Management & Reporting: Manage the sales pipeline and track opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award. Provide timely and accurate updates and reports to internal stakeholders.
- High-Level Opportunity & Bid Governance: Oversee qualification of major opportunities and guide the bid strategy for Offsite packages. Ensure proposals reflect technical excellence, competitive pricing, and clear added value for our clients. Lead value-engineering discussions and early-stage design influence (DfMA, logistics, integration).
- Commercial Strategy & Contract Oversight: Assist in developing commercial models, pricing frameworks, and repeatable modular offerings for potential clients, while protecting margin. Support contract negotiations where required, ensuring commercial risk is understood.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- Essential: Minimum of 5 years experience in business development or a sales within an offsite fabrication/modular manufacturing environment. Familiarity with design and manufacturing processes.
- Desirable: Experience working in manufacturing, modular assembly, fabrication shops, skid-build environments, or MEP prefabrication facilities. Exposure to commercial, pharmaceutical and data centre clients. Experience interpreting technical drawings, production schedules, and material requirements. Sound understanding of the Irish construction/MEP/offsite market.
ABILITIES & SKILLS
- Essential: Ability to support tenders, develop proposals, and respond to client enquiries with sound technical and commercial insight. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes. Confidence engaging with clients, explaining fabrication processes and benefits and presenting propositions credibly to both clients and internal teams. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently. Proficient using MS Excel & PowerPoint, business tools and/or production software. Willingness to travel throughout Ireland and the UK. Full valid driving licence. Interest in modern methods of construction, automation, and modularisation.
