We are actively looking for an Offsite Cost Engineer to join our Offsite team! Scope of Role This is a key role in the provision of management and financial information for Kane Offsite. You will work closely with the design & production team to develop project costs, budgets, programmes and value engineering solutions. Full in-house training will be given. Key Responsibilities Develop Evaluate software to produce transparent and accurate project bill of quantities. Taking agreed project costs to set up and administer project budgets. Attend design meetings and provide cost input for key decisions on design strategy and approach Record and manage project budget costs which will include labour, equipment, repairs, training etc. Preparing quotations / tender breakdowns providing quantified price and scope, specification, exclusions, programme to ensure commercial protection and that extra works can be identified and priced accordingly Liaise with key supply chain to provide timely input to Offsite estimates, negotiation of prices and final procurement on favourable terms Prepare variations for scope changes Prepare monthly valuations for submission to client Develop and maintain project programmes, keeping these updated in line with project progress and requirements. Client liaison for the purposes of valuations and agreeing changes to scope, price and programme Set up a stock control procedure and inventory database to ensure governance of stock and up to date record of total stock value at a given time Qualification Essential A level or Equivalent plus third level education Desirable Mechanical Engineering Degree Experience and Knowledge Essential Strong IT skills particularly with MS office Desirable Experience of cost management in a production, manufacturing or construction environment Experience of cost management in a project environment Experience of working in mechanical design or manufacturing/production environments Experience of project costing, working with budgets, undertaking take offs, good standard of numeracy Technical problem solving with mechanical bias Able to read and decipher 2D and 3D drawings to extract relevant materials quantities, both implicit and implied Abilities and Skills Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload. Capacity to work independently with limited supervision.
