We are seeking a Senior Fabricator based in Banbridge to be part of our growing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fabricate pipework sections as per engineer drawings to the highest standard and quality.
  • Identify fabrication defects and take corrective action promptly.
  • Operate all workshop machinery and tools safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prioritise workloads and assist supervisors in planning shop workflow.
  • Provide technical guidance on pipe fit-up, material selection, and fabrication methods.
  • Support continuous improvement and enhance turnaround times, quality and team performance.
  • Mentor junior fabricators and pipefitters in correct fabrication techniques.
  • Complete job cards & fabrication sheets.
  • Report drawing errors, clashes, or missing information to supervisors or engineers.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-organised work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desirable NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding, Pipefitting, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Forklift Licence.
  • CSCS card.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Essential 5+ years experience in pipe fabrication using carbon steel & stainless steel.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and supporting their technical development within a fabrication environment.
  • Experience working in an offsite workshop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of carbon steel and stainless-steel properties, including heat behaviour, contamination risks, and appropriate handling/storage.
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices when using fabrication tools and equipment.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a Senior or Lead Fabricator role.
  • Strong background in manual pipe fitting.
  • Previous senior or lead-level responsibilities such as mentoring junior staff or overseeing workflow.
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
