About the Role
The Bid Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the end-to-end bid process for tender opportunities from bid development through to submission, negotiation, and contract award. The role provides a central point of control and oversight of the bid process, ensuring all technical, commercial, and quality elements are aligned and delivered in line with client requirements, submission deadlines, and Company bid strategy. The Bid Manager leads and coordinates input from estimating, pre-construction, design, commercial, and leadership teams to deliver high quality, compliant, and competitive bids. The Bid Manager will lead and develop Estimating Managers and their teams, ensuring a structured, consistent and high-quality approach across all bids.
Location: Banbridge (with regular travel to London & wider UK)

Person Specification
- Essential
- A minimum of 5 years experience operating at a senior level in estimating, bid management or preconstruction within building services /construction environment.
- Proven working knowledge of tendering procedures and bid governance, with the ability to apply them effectively across multiple bids.
- Demonstrable capability to take ownership of bids end-to-end.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent bids to tight deadlines.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness including pricing, risk, and value engineering.
- Strong IT skills with working knowledge of estimating/bid software.
- Full UK Driving License, with ability to travel throughout the UK and Ireland for client meetings.
- Desirable
- Relevant qualification in building services, construction, engineering or a related discipline - whether through degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, trade background (e.g. electrical or plumbing), or equivalent vocational route.
- Proven experience in bid management within an M&E environment.
- Experience working with estimating, commercial, and technical teams at tender stage.
- Proven track record leading and delivering tenders submissions through to award.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical contracting and the end-to-end tender process.
- Ability to use company software packages, such as 4Projects and Amtech.
