We are seeking a Quality Inspector based in Banbridge to be part of our growing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance and support to fabrication and welding teams on quality standards and best practices.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of welds and fabricated components in accordance with applicable drawings, codes, and standards.
  • Verify welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQ) and ensure compliance throughout the production process.
  • Perform or coordinate NDT (e.g., DPI, MPI & RT) with third-party providers as required.
  • Maintain accurate inspection and test records, including weld maps, and full traceability documentation.
  • Identify non-conformances, raise NCRs, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is correctly calibrated, maintained, and used appropriately.
  • Identify trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve quality performance.

QUALIFICATION

  • Essential: CSWIP 3.0 Visual Weld Inspector.
  • Desirable: CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector, NDT Level 2 certification, Recognised Health & Safety training (e.g. IOSH, First Aid), Forklift Licence.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Essential: Minimum of 5 years hands-on welding experience, preferably in TIG welding. Minimum of 2 years welding inspection experience within pipe fabrication and/or structural steel workshop environments. Working knowledge of welding standards and codes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
  • Desirable: Awareness of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement principles.

  • Essential: Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify defects. Ability to work independently and make informed quality decisions. Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage inspection records and documentation accurately. Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise across production, QA, and management teams. Good IT skills for recording, reporting, and tracking inspection data.
  • Desirable: Confidence in challenging non-compliant work and driving corrective actions.
