A leading organisation within the FMCG sector is seeking an experienced Production Shift Manager to join its Production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven people leader to take ownership of a high-performing shift and play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
This is a full-time position working on a 4-on, 4-off rotating pattern, covering 12-hour day and night shifts (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am).

The Role
As Production Shift Manager, you will ensure that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead a team across your shift, drive continuous improvement through Lean methodologies, and maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, training, and developing your shift team to maintain high levels of engagement and performance
- Ensuring production outputs are delivered safely, on time, in full, and to the required quality
- Maintaining GMP standards and supporting quality and safety audits
- Using Lean tools and digital systems to drive process improvement, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Conducting daily meetings to review performance, targets, and actions
- Ensuring accurate completion of production paperwork and supporting a move towards paperless processes
- Managing staffing levels, overtime, annual leave, and performance in line with business needs
- Liaising with HR on recruitment, training, and employee relations matters
- Deputising for the Site Operations Manager as required
About You
We are looking for a confident people manager with strong manufacturing experience and a passion for developing teams and improving processes.
You will have:
- Proven experience managing shift operations within an FMCG environment
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing; Six Sigma knowledge is desirable
- Experience supporting quality, safety, and GMP compliance
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
