Buyer (Full-Time – Office Based) Location: Southall (UB2) Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 The Opportunity A leading food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage its purchasing and warehouse functions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing business, taking responsibility for ensuring a smooth, efficient, and cost-effective supply chain operation. Key Highlights Full-time, office-based role in Southall (UB2) Competitive salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum Fantastic opportunity to develop and lead the buying function within a successful manufacturing environment The Buyer Role As Buyer, you will take ownership of the procurement process, ensuring materials, packaging, and services are sourced to meet production and business requirements at the best total cost. You will also oversee stock control and warehouse management. Your responsibilities will include: Defining supplier and supply chain strategies to drive efficiency and cost savings Developing and maintaining purchasing policies and procedures Building and managing supplier relationships and service-level agreements Negotiating and administering purchasing contracts and payment terms Leading cost-saving and continuous improvement projects Overseeing stock, materials, and warehouse management Ensuring compliance with packaging, transport, and regulatory requirements About You We are looking for a commercially minded and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will have: Degree-level education (CIPS qualification desirable) At least 5 years\’ experience in a senior or managerial buying role Strong understanding of procurement and supplier management Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP experience advantageous Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills A flexible, \”can-do\” attitude with a focus on quality, efficiency, and results Interested?
