A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Hygiene Manager to join a leading European food manufacturer supplying premium bakery products to some of the UK's top supermarket chains. This is a key position within a well-established and growing business that prides itself on high standards and a supportive working environment.
As Assistant Hygiene Manager, you will support the Hygiene Manager in leading the hygiene function across the site. You'll be responsible for ensuring cleaning and sanitation operations meet internal and external standards, while effectively managing a team to maintain a safe and hygienic production environment.
Key responsibilities of the Assistant Hygiene Manager include:
- Supervising and motivating the hygiene team to follow cleaning protocols and safety procedures
- Managing the deep cleaning schedule and ensuring all tasks are completed and properly documented
- Ensuring safe use of chemicals and full compliance with C.O.S.H.H. and Health & Safety standards
- Providing training for new and existing hygiene staff in cleaning methods and chemical awareness
- Supporting the Hygiene Manager in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
