About the Role
We're looking for a Technical Sales & Tendering Engineer to join our growing Sales and Tendering team based in Thame.
In this role, you'll support our external sales team by preparing technical quotations, bespoke tenders and commercial proposals for customers across the electrical utilities sector.
From reviewing technical drawings and specifications to coordinating with engineering, operations and customer service teams, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate, competitive solutions and outstanding customer service.
This position would suit someone with experience within electrical utilities, power distribution, renewables, rail, EV infrastructure, capital equipment or another technical engineering environment where preparing quotations and tenders forms part of your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare technical quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
- Review customer specifications, engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Support the external sales team throughout the tender process.
- Respond to technical customer enquiries by phone, email and online portals.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, logistics, finance and customer service teams.
- Complete pre-qualification questionnaires and tender documentation.
- Maintain CRM records and tender documentation.
- Support distributors and provide technical product guidance.
- Attend customer meetings and travel to UK sites when required.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have experience in a technical sales, tendering, estimating, proposals or applications engineering role within an electrical or engineering environment.
You'll also have
- Experience preparing quotations or tenders for technical or engineering products.
- The ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings or electrical schematics.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience within DNO, IDNO, ICP, EV, Renewables or Rail sectors.
- Experience quoting capital equipment or engineered products.
- HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of INCOTERMS or export markets.
- CAD or project management experience.
