We’re working with a well-established food manufacturing business seeking a skilled Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to support high-performing production operations. This is a hands-on role focused on maximising uptime, improving reliability, and driving continuous improvement across modern production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Reliability: Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment. Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs on electrical and mechanical systems. Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Equipment & Projects: Support installation and commissioning of new machinery. Assist with automation upgrades and control system integration. Contribute to engineering and site improvement projects. Work closely with production teams to drive efficiency improvements. Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions. Support lean initiatives (e.g. Kaizen, TPM).
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work meets H&S, electrical, and food safety standards. Follow industry requirements including BRC and HACCP. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Site Support: Supervise external contractors on site. Participate in audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Contribute to improving overall engineering standards.
About You
- NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Proven experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with PLCs, automation, and industrial systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with BRC / HACCP standards.
