    • Complete WVSSAC Training and Certification Program (Estimated Cost: $250.00)

    • Submit to; (upon initial assignment) Criminal Background Check (Estimated Cost: $47.25)
    • Substance Screening Test
    • Be eligible and apply for certification as Coach through the WV Department of Education (Estimated Cost: $35.00)
    • Keep certification valid and current (Estimated Annual Cost: $35.00)
    • Attend Kanawha County Schools' Orientation
  • Requirements for Certified Teachers
    • New TEACHERS hired after July 1, 2012, who apply to coach on the secondary level (grades 6-12) must complete the three‑hour training session provided by Kanawha County Schools and complete the Online Concussion Awareness Course through the KCS Staff Development Site. The training courses will be taught throughout the year. Cost of the course will be $15.00.
