At Kanadevia Inova, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of waste-to-X technology. We are not just waste managers; we are creators of value from what communities discard. Your role at Kanadevia Inova directly contributes to turning something once considered useless - waste - into something invaluable: energy, heat, hydrogen, fertilizer, and beyond.
Kanadevia Inova is seeking an experienced Coded Welder to join our Field Service team, delivering maintenance, repair, outage, refurbishment, and modification projects across Energy from Waste (EfW) and industrial plant facilities throughout the UK.
Working on customer sites nationwide, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding, fabrication, assembly, and repair activities on a variety of plant equipment, pipework, and steelwork. You will play a key role in ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and QHSE requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who enjoys hands-on site work, problem-solving, and working within a dynamic field service environment.
Travel Requirement: Extensive UK travel and working away from home as required
Reporting To: Field Service / Site Supervisor
- Perform coded welding, fabrication, assembly, fusion, modification, and repair work on plant equipment, pipework, structural steelwork, pressure parts, and mechanical subassemblies using TIG, MIG, MAG, MMA, and other approved welding processes, ensuring all work is completed to required quality standards, technical specifications, and customer expectations.
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, welding procedures, fabrication details, assembly schematics, and technical instructions to accurately execute installation, maintenance, refurbishment, shutdown, and repair activities across Energy from Waste and industrial facilities.
- Support planned outages, maintenance shutdowns, commissioning activities, and reactive breakdown repairs by delivering safe and effective welding solutions, assisting mechanical teams with plant installations and repairs, carrying out structural reinforcement and modification works, and responding to operational issues as required.
- Prepare work areas, materials, consumables, and equipment for welding activities, verify material identification and welding requirements, inspect completed welds for quality and conformity, maintain welding equipment in a safe and serviceable condition, and undertake first-line preventative maintenance and routine equipment checks.
- Ensure full compliance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) standards, company procedures, site regulations, contract requirements, project schedules, and budget expectations while maintaining accurate welding documentation, inspection records, and site reports, proactively reporting safety concerns, technical issues, deviations, and improvement opportunities to Site Supervisors and project teams.
Note: The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and may evolve in line with business requirements. The successful candidate may be asked to undertake additional duties appropriate to their skills, experience, and qualifications to support the operational needs of the business and its customers.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to travel extensively and work on customer sites nationwide as required.
Qualifications
- Hold a recognised welding qualification, apprenticeship, or vocational training certification, together with valid welding codes and certifications relevant to industrial plant and fabrication environments.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair within industrial, power generation, Energy from Waste (EfW), process plant, petrochemical, or heavy engineering environments.
- Possess proven expertise in TIG, MIG, MAG, and MMA welding processes, with the ability to independently interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, welding procedures, assembly schematics, and technical documentation.
- Have experience delivering welding repairs, structural modifications, pipework fabrication, boiler or pressure-system work, while maintaining a strong understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) requirements and safe systems of work.
