Kanadevia Inova is currently seeking an experienced Site Supervisor – Overhead Crane to support construction-related repair supervision activities on a major industrial project at Skelton Grange, Leeds. This role will suit a mechanically or electrically biased construction supervisor with strong experience overseeing overhead crane installation, repair, maintenance, and contractor coordination activities within heavy industrial, power generation, or Energy from Waste environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising overhead crane construction and repair activities on site, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications, programme requirements, approved procedures, and HSEQ standards within a live industrial construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all works within the area of responsibility are executed in accordance with contractual requirements, technical standards, project procedures, and approved construction methodologies.
  • Review and monitor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring all activities are carried out safely and that hazards are identified, mitigated, and controlled to the extent practicable.
  • Take responsibility for the safety and HSE performance of personnel and contractors under supervision, including stopping works where safety, quality, or compliance standards may be compromised.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors carrying out overhead crane repair, maintenance, and construction activities, ensuring work fronts are properly planned, resourced, and executed to programme.
  • Support project delivery through progress reporting, contractor management, technical coordination, defect resolution, punch list close-out, and continuous improvement feedback for current and future projects.
Qualifications Requirements:
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification, Technical Diploma, or equivalent technical apprenticeship background with further education and relevant industrial experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising construction, maintenance, or repair activities within large industrial plants such as Energy from Waste, power generation, process, petrochemical, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Strong experience coordinating contractors and subcontractors on live industrial construction sites, including oversight of safety, programme delivery, quality, and technical compliance.
  • Demonstrable understanding of HSEQ management principles, construction safety requirements, permit systems, RAMS review processes, and relevant industrial standards and regulations.
  • Valid SSSTS certification essential, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
