We are seeking an Assistant Shift Team Leader (ASTL) to support the safe and efficient operation of our EfW facility, working closely with the Shift Team Leader to ensure reliable plant performance.

Role Overview

The Assistant Shift Team Leader is responsible for operating and monitoring plant systems from the main control room using DCS, supporting safe and compliant day‑to‑day operations, coordinating closely with maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to HSEQ and environmental regulations, and contributing to reliable plant performance and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, start up, and shut down plant systems in line with procedures and safety requirements.
  • Monitor and control plant parameters via DCS and manual systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections, plant walkdowns, and complete operational logs.
  • Support maintenance activities including lockout/tagout (LOTO) preparation.
  • Identify, report, and respond to faults, abnormal conditions, and HSE concerns.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering or process‑related qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in power generation or a similar industrial environment.
  • Experience working with DCS‑controlled plant systems.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards and safe systems of work.
  • HSE‑related certifications (desirable).

  • Strong safety awareness with a proactive and responsible approach.
  • Good technical understanding of plant systems, controls, and interlocks.
  • Effective problem‑solving skills with the ability to respond under pressure.
  • Team‑oriented with clear communication and collaboration skills.
