Job Description
We are hiring a Commissioning Lead Engineer for our Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), located in Belvedere, South East London.
Delivering the DCS (Distributed Control System) full scope, covering the full integration, testing, and handover of the control and automation system that operates the plant.
- We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Lead Engineer (DCS) with extensive experience in PCS7 to support our Energy-from-Waste (EfW) operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership in control system operations, and the ability to mentor and guide teams on site.
- Champion safety standards across teams and ensure full compliance with project HSEQ requirements
- Deliver complete DCS scope including PCS7, S7-1500 PLCs, and TIA Portal on large-scale EfW plants
- Independently operate critical systems and supervise shift personnel during commissioning phases
- Execute hands-on training for client personnel and optimise processes with commissioning teams
- Interface with stakeholders, maintain shift logs, and ensure works meet contract specifications
The role will start at our Riverside 2 site in Belvedere, with a planned move to the Renewable Gas Commissioning team
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of PCS7, with the capability to mentor, train, and problem-solve on site.
- Experience: 5-10 years in power generation with 2-5 years as Control Room Operator on large-scale plants
- SSSTS certification, valid SCC, and experience leading Permit-to-Work processes
- EfW or Renewable Gas process knowledge (how a plant works from start to finish) preferred
- TUV Rheinland Functional Safety certification is preferred
- Good knowledge of IT and various bus communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, ModbusTCP, IEC104, OPC UA)
- Excellent English, shift flexibility, supervisory experience, and strong stakeholder interface abilities

- Start Date β ASAP
- Contract End β 31/08/2026 (further assignments possible)
- Shifts / Hours β Mon-Fri 10hr/day
- Day Rate β circa Β£600-650 negot.
