Kamsons Pharmacy - Bell Farm Uckfield are recruiting for a Medicines Counter Assistant.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm (with 1 hour unpaid lunch break) plus occasional Saturdays 9am - 1pm to cover annual leave.
Starting rate of pay £12.71 per hour - This will increase on successful completion of a Medicine Counter Assistant course.

If so, you could be a great candidate and should consider the opportunity of joining us to train as a Pharmacy Healthcare Counter Assistant in our friendly community pharmacy. This Pharmacy is based next door to the busy Meads Medical Centre.
The job is fast-paced - the day really does fly by! You will be greeting our customers and establishing what they need from our pharmacy that day. This could be to collect a prescription, buy a medication, obtain some healthcare advice or access a service. As a result, each day is varied and you will get to know many of our local and regular customers. Our team is small, friendly and works closely together – you will become an integral part of the team from the very start of your journey with Kamsons. Great communication with your colleagues and a team can-do attitude will be the key to success.
Within 3-6 months of starting the role, you will have the opportunity to undertake and work towards a Healthcare Counter Assistant course. There is a requirement for candidates to be placed on the correct course relevant to their role in pharmacy to further develop your understanding of the role.
Main roles and responsibilities will include:
- Meet and greet our patients in a friendly caring manner and establish what their needs are in the pharmacy that day.
- Follow till processes including sales of over-the-counter medication and pharmacy merchandise and cashing up.
- Follow the sale of medicines protocol and use appropriate questions to gather information to make appropriate sales and to provide advice to patients on the use of medicines as well as general health and lifestyle matters.
- Receive and hand out prescriptions under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Collect necessary prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the prescription is correctly filled in and signed by the patient or representative.
- Order sufficient stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand whilst minimising losses due to date expiry.
- Maintain attractive looking displays, that are tidy and pulled forward. Implement any price changes or promotions.
- Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties so that sales and back shop areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
- Participate in the delivery of any additional services for which you will have received adequate training.
