About the Role
As a Self-Employed Solar PV Electrician, youll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage units, and electric vehicle (EV) chargers in both residential and commercial properties. Youll work across a variety of settings, installing both single-phase and three-phase systems, and testing and issuing Electrical Installation Certificates for the circuits youve installed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least one year of solar experience and a minimum of three years working as an electrician, ready to take their skills to the next level.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Flexible working schedule with plenty of room for personal autonomy
- Expect to work around 37.5 hours a week, with the potential for some flexibility to suit your needs.
Key Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair Solar PV, Battery Storage, and EV charger electrical systems.
- Work across domestic, commercial, and non-domestic properties.
- Install fuse boards, circuits, and cable runs, both single-phase and three-phase.
- Perform testing and issue Electrical Installation Certificates for the circuits.
- Set up and monitor solar PV systems and related electrical components.
- Install cable tray and containment, and occasionally dig trenches for cable laying.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues as they arise.
- Provide a professional and reliable service to customers.
Key Requirements
- 18th Edition Certification (Mandatory)
- Inspection & Testing Certification (Mandatory)
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical experience, with at least 1 year in Solar PV systems
- Experience with EV charging systems is a bonus
- Proficient in using both power tools and hand tools
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
