Overview

Here at Kamro we have partnered up with a proud family-run independent dealership specialising in used Ford Cars. Our client is looking for a Vehicle Mechanic. If you’ve got experience with inspections and servicing, tyre services, brake work, suspensions and MOT repairs we want to hear from you!

About the Role

You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing a varied stock of used vehicles. That includes checking batteries, lights, exhausts, tyres, brakes, suspension as well as repairing or replacing other faulty parts and ensuring that every car leaving the workshop meets high safety and quality standards. There will also be occasions where you’ll liaise with customers to explain issues, advise on repairs, and ensure vehicles are roadworthy without surprises. In short: you’ll keep vehicles moving reliably, safely, and looking good.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Duties

  • Conduct full servicing and routine maintenance on a variety of used vehicles
  • Repair or replace car parts
  • Prepare cars for sale: MOT-prep, safety checks, rectifying advisories, ensuring all work is fully logged and compliant
  • Work alongside sales and customer service to understand repair requests and explain faults clearly to customers
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work area; ensure cleanliness, safety, and efficiency

Key Requirements

  • Hands-on experience as a vehicle mechanic or fast fit mechanic
  • Organised, with attention to detail
  • Good communicator: able to explain faults to customers in plain terms when needed
  • Appropriate tools, or ability to use standard workshop equipment confidently
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • 2 years experience in a similar role
