You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of family law matters while providing supervision and guidance to junior staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload including non-molestation orders, Child Arrangements Orders, divorce, and private children matters from instruction through to completion
  • Representing parents, grandparents, and other family members in care and supervision proceedings
  • Preparing legal documentation including court applications, witness statements, bundles, and briefs to counsel
  • Advising clients on legal matters and progressing cases through the court system
  • Attending client conferences and working closely with counsel and external professionals
  • Handling legal aid applications via CCMS and ensuring compliance
  • Supervising and mentoring paralegals and administrative staff
  • Meeting billing targets and contributing to overall team performance
  • Managing files efficiently using a case management system

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with relevant supervisory accreditation
  • Panel Guardianship/Representation (essential)
  • Accredited by The Law Society (Family Law and/or Children Law Accreditation)
  • Strong experience working with legal aid (CCMS), within a private practice environment
  • Proven experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong drafting, communication, and client care skills
  • Confident advising courts on outcomes in children matters, including arranging expert assessments
  • Comfortable using IT systems and case management software

Additional Information:

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Hybrid working model (2 days in the office)
  • Occasional travel to other office locations (e.g. Watford) may be required
