About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a reliable, hardworking and motivated Bakery Production Operative to join a busy bakery production team based in Leigh. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced production role where the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the bakery production process.
The Bakery Production Operative will work both independently and as part of a team to produce high-quality bakery products while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, health and safety, hygiene and quality. The position involves regular manual handling and working within a very warm production environment, so applicants must be comfortable with the physical demands of the role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh and mix ingredients according to production requirements.
- Safely and efficiently operate bakery production machinery.
- Carry out regular manual handling, including lifting 16kg - 25kg bags of flour.
- Push and pull large, heavy mixing bowls and other production equipment.
- Follow production schedules and work towards daily production targets.
- Assist with general bakery production duties as required.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and product quality at all times.
- Follow relevant health and safety procedures.
- Work efficiently and safely within a very warm production environment.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Promptly report any equipment, hygiene, quality or safety concerns to the Bakery Manager.
- Work effectively as part of the production team while also using their own initiative.
- Remain flexible to support production requirements during particularly busy periods.
