About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated LGV Fitter to join our team based in Colchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Large Goods Vehicles (LGVs), ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on LGVs
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and support compliance requirements
  • Complete repairs efficiently and safely to manufacturer and industry standards
  • Mobile work involved, travelling to customer locations where required
  • Accurately complete service reports, inspection records, and job documentation
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
  • Maintain a professional approach when representing the business on customer sites

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an LGV Fitter, HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or similar position
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
  • Experience carrying out servicing and repairs independently
  • Good understanding of DVSA standards and vehicle maintenance requirements
  • Comfortable travelling to customer sites when required
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Class 1 / C+E Licence advantageous but not essential
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent experience preferred
