Im working closely with a well-established, purpose-led organisation to appoint an experienced Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) on an 8-month fixed-term contract. This is a senior, high-impact role, ideal for a commercially astute FP&A leader who enjoys partnering with executive stakeholders, driving insight-led decision-making, and bringing clarity to complex financial data during a defined period of change.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Director, the Head of FP&A will take ownership of the organisations financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting agenda. Youll play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making, enhancing financial insight, and strengthening financial governance. The role operates on a hybrid basis, with on-site presence in Watford approximately twice per month, offering flexibility while maintaining strong engagement with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Partner with senior leadership to provide clear, actionable financial insight and constructive challenge
- Produce high-quality management reporting, dashboards, and board-level analysis
- Drive improvements in financial models, processes, and controls
- Support strategic initiatives, business cases, and investment decisions
- Manage and develop FP&A team members, fostering a culture of insight and accountability
- Act as a key finance contact for non-finance stakeholders across the organisation
About You
My client is seeking a confident, credible finance leader who can quickly add value and operate effectively in a complex environment. You will likely bring:
- Proven experience in a senior FP&A role (Head of FP&A / Senior FP&A Manager)
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at executive level
- Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capability
- Experience working within a group or multi-entity structure
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and comfort managing ambiguity
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
