This role would suit someone who’s comfortable managing a portfolio of private clients and SMEs and is now looking to step into a more senior, hands-on position.
About the Role
This is a client-facing role where you’ll be managing a portfolio that includes high-net-worth individuals, directors, and business owners. You’ll be reviewing and preparing personal and corporate tax returns, identifying tax planning opportunities, and advising clients in a clear, practical way. There’s a strong advisory element to the position, so it’s ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, building long-term relationships, and offering more than just compliance.

The team you’ll be joining are part of a growing accountancy firm based in Barnet. They specialise in looking after small businesses and limited companiesoffering a down-to-earth, approachable service with no fluff. They’ve got a good reputation, a steady client base, and a strong focus on doing things properly. While they’re serious about their work, they don’t take themselves too seriously, and the office has a relaxed but focused feel.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm
Key Duties
Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns
Advising clients on a range of tax matters including remuneration planning, CGT, and tax efficiency
Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities
Supporting junior staff and reviewing their work
Communicating directly with clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
Liaising with HMRC when needed
Key Requirements
Solid experience in a tax-focused role within practice
Strong understanding of personal tax
Comfortable working independently and confident dealing directly with clients
