We are currently seeking an experienced Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer to join a well-established organisation within the plant hire and maintenance sector. This is a field-based role responsible for delivering high-quality breakdown support, servicing, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment across multiple customer sites.

The successful candidate will be a skilled and self-motivated engineer with strong technical ability and a proven track record in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend client sites to diagnose and repair plant machinery breakdowns
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
  • Undertake mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault finding and repairs
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to a safe and operational standard
  • Complete detailed service reports and job documentation accurately
  • Provide clear communication and technical feedback to customers on-site
  • Work independently while managing daily workload and travel schedules
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company standards
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer role
  • Relevant qualification in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline
  • Strong experience in plant machinery diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Own hand tools required
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding ability
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
