Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team. As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining, preparing and repairing commercial vehicles to ensure they meet high standards of safety, performance and presentation before sale and dispatch. You will work across a varied fleet of used trucks and commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and repairs to support vehicle readiness for UK and export customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs across a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and support compliance requirements.
- Carry out repair and maintenance work on hydraulic systems where required.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Support efficient turnaround of workshop activity and vehicle availability.
- Work safely and maintain high workshop standards at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Vehicle Fitter.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent preferred).
- Experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles.
- Good understanding of vehicle compliance and MOT preparation.
- Ability to work independently and within a workshop team.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Class 1 and/or Class 2 HGV Licence (preferred).
- MOT experience (preferred).
