Location: Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 4HP

Salary: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Full-Time | Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

We are a well-established, family-run commercial vehicle business with over 30 years of industry experience, supplying quality used trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles to customers across the UK and international markets. With customers in 50+ countries, we specialise in sourcing, preparing and delivering reliable commercial vehicles while maintaining high standards of service, quality and customer satisfaction.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team. As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining, preparing and repairing commercial vehicles to ensure they meet high standards of safety, performance and presentation before sale and dispatch. You will work across a varied fleet of used trucks and commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and repairs to support vehicle readiness for UK and export customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs across a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
  • Completing inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT and supporting compliance requirements.
  • Carrying out repair and maintenance work on hydraulic systems where required.
  • Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Supporting efficient turnaround of workshop activity and vehicle availability.
  • Working safely and maintaining high workshop standards at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Vehicle Fitter.
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles.
  • Good understanding of vehicle compliance and MOT preparation.
  • Ability to work independently and within a workshop team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Class 1 and/or Class 2 HGV Licence (preferred).
  • MOT experience (preferred).
