The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing construction business based in Blackpool.

The role will involve working across a varied portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects throughout the UK.

You will take ownership of your own projects, working closely with the wider commercial and project teams to ensure they are delivered successfully and commercially.

This is a role suited to someone who enjoys a degree of autonomy and is confident managing their own workload, while still being part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take commercial responsibility for multiple projects from pricing through to completion.
  • Manage project costs, budgets and financial performance.
  • Support pricing and tender submissions alongside the Head of Commercial.
  • Manage valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
  • Monitor project performance and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and commercial negotiations.
  • Work closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend sites and client meetings across the UK as required.
  • Manage your own diary and workload effectively.
  • Provide commercial input to support successful project delivery.

About You

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with 510 years' experience within the construction industry.

You'll ideally have

  • Experience working across new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects of varying value and complexity.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Experience with valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
  • Good client-facing and negotiation skills.
  • The confidence to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
  • A practical, commercially minded and delivery-focused approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • A willingness to travel to projects across the UK.

We would also consider an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is ready to step up into a Senior QS position.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who is client-focused, collaborative and takes ownership of delivering a high standard of work.
