We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a range of fire and security systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. This role requires a customer-focused professional with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems.
- Install and maintain intruder alarm systems.
- Service and fault-find CCTV systems, including IP-based systems.
- Install and maintain access control systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently and effectively.
- Complete all relevant service reports, worksheets, and compliance documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and industry regulations.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers on system operation and maintenance.
- Participate in an on-call rota where required.
- Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicle in good condition.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working as a Fire & Security Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Experience carrying out installations, servicing, maintenance, and fault finding.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good IT skills for completing digital reports and documentation.
Qualifications
- Relevant industry experience within fire and security engineering.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- ECS/CSCS Card (desirable).
- FIA qualifications (desirable).
- Manufacturer training certifications (desirable).
