We are currently seeking an experienced Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer to join a well-established organisation within the plant hire and maintenance sector. This is a field-based role responsible for delivering high-quality breakdown support, servicing, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment across multiple customer sites. The successful candidate will be a skilled and self-motivated engineer with strong technical ability and a proven track record in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend client sites to diagnose and repair plant machinery breakdowns
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
- Undertake mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault finding and repairs
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to a safe and operational standard
- Complete detailed service reports and job documentation accurately
- Provide clear communication and technical feedback to customers on-site
- Work independently while managing daily workload and travel schedules
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company standards
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer role
- Relevant qualification in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline
- Strong experience in plant machinery diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Own hand tools required
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding ability
