Salary: £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team based in Horsham. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify project risks and opportunities during the tender process.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Prepare and submit tender proposals within required deadlines.
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs, and tender outcomes.
- Support handover of successful projects to the delivery team.
- Previous experience in an Estimator role within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or drainage sectors.
- Strong understanding of estimating principles and tender processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Relevant construction, engineering, or commercial qualification.
- Experience working on infrastructure, highways, drainage, utilities, or groundworks projects.
- Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts.
