About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team based in Horsham. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities during the tender process.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Prepare and submit tender proposals within required deadlines.
  • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs, and tender outcomes.
  • Support handover of successful projects to the delivery team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an Estimator role within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or drainage sectors.
  • Strong understanding of estimating principles and tender processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Desirable

  • Relevant construction, engineering, or commercial qualification.
  • Experience working on infrastructure, highways, drainage, utilities, or groundworks projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts.
