An established law firm based in Hayling Island is seeking an experienced Conveyancer to join their busy property department. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion, ensuring transactions are handled efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. There may also be a small amount of straightforward commercial property work involved in the role, ideally within the candidates existing experience or capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, and leasehold transactions.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors throughout the transaction process.
  • Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and completion statements.
  • Conduct property searches and review title documentation.
  • Assist with occasional straightforward commercial property matters, where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear and timely updates to clients on the progress of their matters.
  • Maintain accurate case files and records using the firms case management system.

Requirements

  • Previous experience handling residential conveyancing matters independently.
  • Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Legal Executive, or experienced Conveyancing Fee Earner considered.
  • Some familiarity with commercial property transactions would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process and relevant property law.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and client care abilities.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload and work to deadlines.
